Strategic Planning

Developing a solid and actionable strategic plan is critical to the success of any organization. We’ve developed a process which has proven to be incredibly effective in accomplishing this.


We begin with an in-depth study of the organization, their industry, and their competitors. We follow up with requests for information (provided in the strictest confidence) that allows us to assess their current situation and understand their trends, strengths and weaknesses.


Then, we schedule a one-day meeting with the company leaders and key contributors. We work through a detailed process where we take an in-depth look at:

      · The organization’s mission statement.

      · Their target market(s).

      · Their marketing mix.

      · How they deliver value to their customers.

      · How they capture value from their customers.


We question assumptions, probe activities, solicit input from those who might not ordinarily offer it, and ask a lot of questions designed to make all present think about exactly what they’re doing and why.


Finally, we review trends in the industry, competitive activity, and changes in microenvironmental and macroenvironmental forces that will impact the organization going forward.


The value of this exercise is that we:

           (a) Conduct it in way that has proven to be effective at identifying strengths, weaknesses,      opportunities, and threats.

           (b) Solicits opinions and input from managers who might not ordinarily be as forthcoming.

           (c) Provide a basis for planning and execution for the organization moving forward.

           (d) Offer our own expertise and experience based on having consulted many other organizations in different industries. Identifying best practices that can and should be adopted.


We emerge with a detailed set of strategies, objectives, and tactics for the organization with a plan for going forward that assigns responsibilities, measurements, and timetables.


Following the meeting, we present a detailed recap of the meeting and specific plans for moving forward.
